Treatment of CGHS beneficiaries in Non-CGHS areas

Inpatient treatment/follow up treatment of CGHS beneficiaries in Non-CGHS areas

CGHS pensioner (and dependents) beneficiaries residing in non-CGHS areas-

  • In emergency the beneficiary may get treated in any hospital and submit the medical claim to the Addl. Director of the city where his CGHS card is registered
  • In non-emergency case Pensioner CGHS beneficiary is eligible to obtain treatment from Government (Central/State/Local self-Government) hospitals and with the prior approval of CMO I/C of CGHS WC (where his CGHS card is registered) in the hospitals approved under CSMA/Empanelled under ECHS.
  • In case of follow up cases of renal transplant ,hip/knee replacement, cancer and neuro/cardiac surgery CGHS beneficiary is eligible to obtain follow up treatment in the hospitals mentioned above with prior permission of CMO I/C
  • Reimbursement will be limited to CGHS rates of the city where the CGHS card is registered.In emergency the beneficiary may get treated in any hospital and submit the medical claim to the Addl. Director of the city where his CGHS card is registered
